365 Project - Days 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, & 58

March 24th, Day 52:
On the 24th I noticed that I was missing my hubcap. I thought it was hilarious that someone decided to take my hubcap because they are not in the best condition. While I was driving Fletch to work, we noticed a hubcap on the side of the street. We pulled over and discovered it was my missing hubcap! I was so excited that I found it. Now I don't have one sad tire without some pizazz.
I took this photo with my Minolta XG1.

March 25th, Day 53:
Flowers are blooming all around. I love taking Lily for walks now because I get to enjoy the sunshine and see the beautiful houses in my neighborhood. It is the simple things in life that can bring the greatest joy.
I took this with my Minolta XG1.

March 26th, Day 54:
As you know, I LOVE taking walks in my neighborhood. I thought this house and flowers were so beautiful. Isn't it wonderful going outside and enjoying the weather? I am thankful that I am able to take the time to go out and enjoy the area I live in.
I took this photo with my Minolta XG1.

March 27th, Day 55:
I took a day to play around with my Minolta XG1. I took it on a walk with Lily and was able to snap photos of the area. My last photo was this. At Bartell Drugs I realized I had another photo left. I thought it might be fun to have a photo of myself. I love testing out my camera and I am really excited to master it.
Obviously, I took this with my Minolta XG1.

March 28th, Day 56:
I know, too many photos of flowers. I can't help it! I find so much beauty in nature.
I took this with my new Biscuit camera!

March 29th, Day 57:
I started my new job two weeks ago and I am loving it! My co-workers are wonderful and they appreciate my hard work. What a great change! The office is really excited about March Madness and had a basketball themed day. I actually got to wear basketball shorts and a jersey! It was honestly the most comfortable I have ever been at work. What a great Friday!!
This was taken with my iPhone.

March 30th, Day 58:
This is my amazing friend, Justin Buchanan. We first met at PLU almost four years ago and have been friends ever since. Justin and I both love photography and like to get out and take photos when the weather permits. We walked around downtown Tacoma and took photos of the area. It was beautiful.
I took this photo with my Biscuit camera.

365 Project - Days 50 & 51

March 22nd, Day 50:
I just finished my first week at my new job. Everyone was very nice and I am excited to continue to get to know them. I took a photo of this muffin because it exemplifies the caring and kind nature of my new office. A co-worker brought me one of his homemade muffins because he knew I wouldn't be able to leave the front desk to go have one. It was a simple gesture but made me feel incredibly welcomed. I am very glad that I found a workplace that appreciates and accepts me.
This was taken with my Nikon P310.

March 23rd, Day 51:
I already told you about my new little biscuit camera. Today I plan on testing the little guy out. The camera is very light and easy to use. It even takes videos! I am very thankful that I am able to treat myself to small things like this. I have a hobby that can be costly but by saving and being smart I have been able to enjoy it regardless.
I am very lucky.

I took this photo of me taking a photo with my iPhone.

365 Project - Days 48 & 49

March 20th, Day 48:
The temperature has dropped but somehow it can still be beautiful outside. The weather lately has been sporadic but I was excited to see this when I came home from work. A beautiful sky.
I took this photo with my iPhone.

March 21st, Day 49:
This little cutie is the newest addition to my camera family. I received my new biscuit camera in the mail today and I couldn't be more excited! I plan on taking some photos this weekend and I will share them as soon as I can.
I took this photo with my Nikon P310.

365 Project - Days 44, 45, 46, & 47

March 16th, Day 44:
I love taking time to relax and rest. I used a bath bomb that my friend, Porsche, gave me for my birthday. It was lovely just sitting in the tub. I rarely take the time to just sit and do nothing. I am always thinking about what else needs to be completed. Sometimes we need to stop and live in the now.
This photo was taken with my iPhone.
March 17th, Day 45:

Happy St. Patrick's day! This is the first time I have ever gone out to do something for the day. This year I went to dinner with my friend, Jessica. Neither of us have ever had green beer before. I know that it is just beer with green food coloring but I really wanted to have one! Jessica and I had given up hope that we would be able to find a place that was not too crowded but also had these festive drinks. We were surprised to find the drinks we ordered to be green! I had an amazing time with Jessica and I am so thankful to have her in my life. She has been a strong support system for me and I am going to miss seeing her everyday.
This was taken with my iPhone by our lovely waitress.

March 18th, Day 46:
I told you I would take lots of flower photos!
I took this photo while on a walk with Lily. I just love the trees in bloom. The neighborhood is looking beautiful and I cannot wait for summer! I am glad that I am able to walk and enjoy nature. At times I feel that taking Lily out for walks is a nuisance. It takes time away from all of my other activities. The thing is that as soon as I am out, I immediately feel better. I know that it is worthy of my time. Not only does it help my sweet little puppy stay fit but it also forces me to simply enjoy my surroundings.
I took this photo with my iPhone, of course.

March 19th, Day 47:
Tonight I am forcing myself to sit and read. I don't read as much as I want to and I would like to get better about starting a book and finishing it in a timely manner. This is my latest. I think that Mindy is very funny and I am excited to read more about her. I will let you know how it reads.
To keep with the trend of the other photos in this post I took this with my iPhone.

365 Project - Days 39, 40, 41, 42, & 43

March 11th, Day 39:
I love taking Lily for walks. It not only makes me feel great about getting Lily out for some exercise but I also really enjoy my neighborhood. I love looking at the old houses and seeing other neighborhood dogs. It brings me peace.
This photo of Lily out for her walk was taken with my iPhone.

March 12th, Day 40:
I cleaned the tub! Sometimes completing a chore can feel incredibly rewarding. My dear friend, Porsche, sent me a bath bubble bomb for my birthday. I finally took the time to clean the tub so I could use it! I am sure it will be amazing!
My tub photo was taken with my Nikon Coolpix P310.

March 13th, Day 41:
Fletch left me this week to go visit his family. I miss him terribly. So I attempted to fill the void of loneliness with this. I call it Pillow Fletch. It is not as good as the real thing but hey, I won't complain.
This Pillow Fletch portrait was taken with my Nikon Coolpix P310.

March 14th, Day 42:
I had my last day at work this week. My friend and former coworker, Jessica, had a surprise waiting for me when I came into work on my last day. It was the sweetest thing. She made these delicious Nutella danishes and had a coffee and card waiting for me. I felt loved and appreciated. I am going to miss working with Jessica but I know that this is a positive change for me.
I took this photo of my delicious danish with my Nikon Coolpix P310.

March 15th, Day 43:
Today I spent the day with my mother. We went to an antique store in downtown Tacoma that was HUGE. It even had this beautiful library.
I took this photo of my mother looking at books with my Nikon Coolpix P310.

New Holga 135bc Photos!

Hello Everyone!
I finally finished another role of film with my Holga 135 bc! The photos are a little old but they still look pretty cool. The photos are ranging from October to this last weekend. I hope you enjoy them and let me know what you think!

365 Project - Days 36, 37 & 38

March 8th, Day 36:
This weekend I made some delicious whoopie pies. I love baking and I really enjoyed spending the time making these. It can be difficult to find time to do something that you really love. I always make up excuses for not baking, the main reason being that I have no one to eat my delicious goods.
I took this photo with my iPhone.

March 9th, Day 37:
I absolutely love this photo. I took this while I was out on a walk with my dear friend, Kirsty. We were walking along this cute little pond when I noticed this adorable little girl with her grandmother. The little girl was interested in everything and the grandmother was very sweet and caring with her. I wanted to capture the moment without making them uncomfortable. I snapped this photo while they were walking around the pond.
I love the wonder that children feel just by being out in nature. They are excited and happy to walk around and look at ducks.
This was taken with my Holga 135bc.

March 10th, Day 38:
I saw a car with these stickers on it while waiting for Fletch. I love the movie Ghost Busters and this car brought a smile to my face. It was great to share a common feeling with complete strangers. I could see the same joy in their faces when they saw the car as I had experienced.

365 Project - Days 33, 34, & 35

March 5th, Day 33:
I love seeing the flowers begin to bloom. It reminds me of the natural beauty in the world.
I took Lily out for a walk and noticed that several trees on my block were sprouting flowers. I wanted to capture the beginning of a new season with this photo.
Get ready because I know that many of my photos to come will be of gardens around my block.
This was taken with my iPhone.

March 6th, Day 34:
On the 6th one of my dear friends got some bad news. I just hate seeing people upset. I want to help them and take away the pain. While she was in the restroom cleaning up I happened to swallow my cough drop.
I was very excited about my cough drop and to swallow it was a disappointment. I became very mad that I wasted a perfectly good cough drop.
When my friend returned I told her that if she thought she had it bad then she hadn't heard about my unfortunate event. I said, "I swallowed a perfectly good cough drop!"
She laughed and gave me a hug.
Swallowing the cough drop was not a big deal but the absurdity of it made her feel better and cheer up. Helping her feel better was the highlight of my day. Other great events occurred during the day that made me very happy but being able to assist a friend in need is always my favorite thing to do.
I took this photo with my iPhone.

March 7th, Day 35:
This is my favorite pair of earrings. I purchased them at a cute little shop in Olympia when Fletch and I had a day away together. They remind me of our time alone exploring.
It surprises me that I place such a high value on material items. It isn't the item itself but the people and memories I associate with it. I feel that if I were to lose the item I would lose the memory of that special moment.
How intriguing.
These sweet little earrings brighten my day because I think of my wonderful friend and partner, Fletch.

365 Project - Day 32

March 4th, Day 32:

This photo is of a delicious beer that my sweetie Fletch got me. Let me provide you with some context.
Every Sunday or Monday, depending on our schedules, Fletch and I go over to my friend Jessica's to eat and watch Walking Dead. We call this wonderful night, Walking Dead night. Earlier in the day I had an interview with a company that I am really excited about. Fletch purchased us a bottle of Flat Tire to share in celebration of my further journey into adulthood. I am so glad that I could share my excitement with Fletch and my dear friend Jessica. They are two very special people to me and I am incredibly thankful to have them in my life.

365 Project - Days 30 & 31

March 2nd, Day 30:

On March 2nd I celebrated my birthday. Yes, my birthday was actually on February 25th but that doesn't matter. Anyway, for my birthday I met up with friends at the Swiss. I had a great time seeing everyone that I care about. I really appreciate that my friends came out to help me celebrate my birthday. On my birthday, and the day that I celebrated it, I felt so loved. My friends and family went out of their way to show their love and support for me. I can never thank them enough. This photo specifically is of an article that Amber wrote about me. It was possibly the sweetest present I could ever receive. She wrote about my request to all of my friends to do at least one nice thing for someone else for my birthday.
Sometimes we lose sight of what is really important in life. We buy material things to make ourselves happy or to boost our confidence. We do these things even though what we really should be doing is looking toward the people we love around us for happiness. I know that when I do something nice for another person not only does it make them feel better but it also provides me with a sense of worth. I wanted those around me to feel that joy and to share it with others.
Not only did Amber take my simple Facebook request to heart but she shared it with those in her community. She hoped to further inspire kindness in the world.
I will forever be grateful for this.
My beautiful, framed article was taken with my Nikon P310.

March 3rd, Day 31:

On March 3rd I was fortunate enough to go to Emerald City Comicon. Fletch and I have gone every year since we have been together. It has become a tradition for us and I am so glad that we got to go again this year.
Fletch and I were joined by our amazing friends Amber and Kyle. I love that Amber is so supportive of Kyle and I love that Kyle gets excited about comics as much as Fletch does. Although my feet were hurting by the end of the day, I had a great time.
This photo was taken of a Totoro made out of Legos! It was our last activity of the day and it was a blast to look at. Our day was filled with amazing cosplay costumes and extremely talented artists.
I am thankful that I had the opportunity to go to this convention.
Totoro was taken with my Nikon P310.

PS:
Last night I found out that I actually have a few people following my blog. I really appreciate your ongoing support and hope that you get as much joy out of reading and viewing my photos as I do sharing them. I love you all.

365 Project - Days 28 & 29

February 28th, Day 28:
This is a photo of some delicious crepes that I made. To be honest, I don't cook a lot. Fletch does most of the cooking for dinner and I do breakfast.  Tonight I thought it would be fun to make crepes. They turned out yummy and made my heart very happy. On top of that, I made extras so we have them for this weekend!
Yum.
This photo was taken with my iPhone.

March 1st, Day 29:
Tonight I took a risk and painted my Holga. I love the chevron pattern and the light green color. I know that I could always improve but I think for my first try this is an admirable attempt. I am so extremely excited to take my new Holga out for a day on the town. She will be the envy of all lomographers.
I loved completing this project.
This was taken with a Canon Rebel T4i.
